After almost my house renovation was over, during spring season in 2025, I decided to take my things from the storage space in Zushi back home. From Hayama to Zushi was only about 20 mins drive, so I went there and stuffed all of my things in my car, and brought back to my home. I did about ten round trips.(sometimes 2 or 3 times in one day) I didn’t want to ask a removal company because it was too expensive, and I needed to take things in gradually to have enough space at home.
I first brought back all of my parents’ liquore which I kept neatly in the basket box and had to make space in the living room. (The space underneath the inside deck by the left window.)
Then I had to take about four 120 size plastic cases with both my parents’ and my clothes. I brought them back, sorted out and threw out some of them that were old and have holes.
The next thing was taking out my father’s suits from the huge box. Mind you all suits were kept neatly in costume cases so it was ok but there were ten cases! (Mostly business suits, he had so much clothes!) I separated them in cases and brought back home.
During the renovation, cardboard boxes with all the things were everywhere in the house. There was a huge bookshelf (with steel legs)by the window in the living room, but the shelf itself was old and woods that held books were bending, so I got rid of all of them with the help from a carpenter. I put most books into the boxes and kept them at the corner of the living room. Basically I had to remove everything from the deck such as a bookshelf, TV, Music devices during the time the windows were getting fitted.
I bought a very nice bookshelf at a home center in the right size and has the stretch bar to the ceiling to be able to hold the bookshelf. I fitted most books, but other books that can’t be fitted, I brought them in my mother’s music room. I bought two medium size book shelves again in the home center (I love this place!) and managed to fit rest of books in them. All the books are fitted！Few！
Is it me? that the more I organize things, the more I discover and have things??
The next biggest hurdle was organizing my mother’s LP records. She had a big collection of classical music records, of course, being a musician, it is crucial for her. If I pile few pieces together, they get heavy! But what do I do with them and where do I keep? It’s not healthy for LP records to be kept inside cardboard boxes. I bought ten square tight basket boxes at the home center that fits the records. I fitted all of them neatly and put them in the music room and eventually inside the closet. Lol！
But I still needed another storage space, so I asked my carpenter friend to build a storage where the tower was. We discussed about the materials, size and colors and decided from there. He spent about ten days building, and built a very beautiful storage for me!! I ordered two plastic trunks from Amazon that can fit into the storage space, and put all of my father’s documents. I decided to go for practical ones, not too pretty ones.
Two trunks were delivered in parts, so I had to build them and fit into my new storage space.
I fit all the documents in two layers, thankfully, they fit beautifully!! Few!!
I put all of extra books, electric wires, utensils, screws, drivers, and other miscellaneous things into 12 medium size plastic boxes, and piled on top of the trunks. Few!! I got so tired！My mother had so many painting collections, so I put them neatly into white cases, and put 4 of them on top of the plastic case. (Oil paintings need to be kept neatly to avoid deterioration.)
Finally I fit the rest of space with my father’s and my drawing in the tube cases and A0 size drawing cases.
For now, everything fit in right places nicely.
But, there are still sorting out in the storage and my house need to be done.

大幅な修復工事が終わり、2025年の春辺りから逗子の倉庫に預けてある物（仙台から送った物）を葉山自宅に持ち帰る事にしました。葉山から逗子まで車で20分の距離なので、倉庫に車で行き、車に詰めるものだけ詰めて葉山自宅に持ち帰りました。倉庫には約10回ほど往復しました。（時には一日２回から3回行くときもありました。）業者に頼むと高くつくし、家のスペースを調整しながら物を持ち運ぶ必要があったからです。
まず最初は私の両親のお酒…中サイズのバスケットボックス４個に丁寧に入れてあるお酒を持ち帰り、この４個のボックスが納まるようにリビングルームにスペースを作りました。家に入り、左側窓、内側のデッキの下と前にスペースを上手く作り、納める事ができました。
その後に私と両親の服が入った120サイズのプラスチックケース４個を持ち帰り、中身を整理して、古くて穴の開いた服などは捨てました。その次は父のスーツ類が入った大きな箱！スーツはすでにコスチュームケースに綺麗に入っていたので、箱から取り出しバラにして車に詰め込み自宅まで持ち帰りました。（このケースは10個ありました。主にビジネススーツでした。服持ち！）
一番の難関は父の事務所の書類！約２０箱を７箱づつ車に入れて３往復しました。これだけの箱は何処におけば良いのか分からないので、まずは一時的に母の音楽室に置くことにしました。
工事中は、家中は物が入った段ボールだらけでした。リビングルームの天井までつっかえ棒がある本棚（スチールの棒でできている）はかなり古くて、本を支えている木も見事にへっこんでいたので、大工さんに手伝ってもらいながら処分しました。その前にまずは本を綺麗に段ボールの中に入れて、リビングルームの奥の方に寄せました。とにかく窓を取り外して、枠を直し、新しい窓をとりつけるまでは窓の内側のデッキ上の物（テレビ、プレーヤー等々）は全部どかさなければいけませんでした。
ホームセンターでサイズも合い、天井までつっかえ棒のある気に入った本棚を買いました。本はほぼ全部上手くはまり、はまらない本は母の音楽室にある中サイズの２個の本棚に入れました。まずは安心！（この本棚も実はホームセンターで買いました。けっこう良い！）
なぜか整理をすればするほど物が増えると思うのは気のせいでしょうか？次にすごいのは母のLPレコード！！もちろん音楽家なのでクラシック音楽のコレクションがかなりあり、しかもLPレコードは数枚重ねるとかなり重い！どこに置けばいいかな？では母の音楽室に！段ボールの中に入れておくとレコード自体に不健康なので、レコードがはまるサイズのバスケットボックスを１０個買い、まずは音楽室に綺麗に整理しておきました。その後、クローゼットの中に移しました。
では父の書類はどうしよう？？イギリスの寄宿舎学校にいた時に使っていた薄い鉄製のトランクが倉庫にあり、中身を見たら私の絵や図面、製図道具、そして服が入っていたのでこれを全部取り出し、バラにして家に持ち帰りました。空にしたトランクをまずはメインの倉庫に入れて、父と母の書類を上手く入れる事ができました。これほど大きなトランクは書類を保管するにはちょうどいいですね！ホッ！！
でもこれだけの物を上手く納めるには追加に倉庫が必要なので、前にタワーがあった場所に、大工さんに特注で倉庫を建ててもらうことにしました。倉庫のための材料やサイズ、色などを相談しながら決めていきました。１０日間ほどの作業でしたが、とても素晴らしい倉庫を作ってくれました！そしてこの倉庫にはまる、プラスチックトランクを２個アマゾンで注文しました。父の書類を入れる必要があったので、おしゃれではなくもっと実用的なトランクを選びました。
プラスチックトランクはパーツで届いたので、組み立てて倉庫の中にはめていきました。父の書類は２段にして綺麗に納まりました！フィーウ！
12個の中サイズのプラスチックボックスに追加の本、電気ワイヤー、器具、ドライバーやネジ、その他の物を中に丁寧に入れて、トランクの上に積み上げました。疲れた！母は絵画のコレクションもありましたので、４つの絵画サイズの箱に綺麗に納めてプラスチックケースの上に上手く納めました。（油絵などは絵画用の箱に綺麗に保管しないと劣化してしまうので。）
最後に残りのスペースは父と私の図面をチューブケースとA0ケースに入れて、倉庫の右端に納めました。
まずは、必要な物は納められました！
とはいえ、まだまだ家の中と倉庫の整理が必要です。続く。
